My goal in teaching Music at White Oak is to inspire, to teach something new and to have fun. Singing, listening, dancing, theory, rhythms, instruments, music history - You don't have to have talent to be good in music. Music excites and soothes and makes you want to move or sing.
I try to incorporate every aspect of music each school year. Rock, jazz, opera, classical, conducting, listening games. we play tones bells, autoharps, rhythm instruments; singing rounds and even some harmony. Last year the 4th and 5th grade classes composed their own melodies!
