About Us
White Oak Elementary is fondly known as "your neighborhood school." We are nestled within the First Neighborhood Community in Westlake Village. White Oak is the only Las Virgenes Elementary school within the city of Westlake Village. The city has forged a relationship with our school and supports us in numerous ways including “City to Schools”, a program for our 4th graders that allows them to learn about our great city and the local government. The city partners with us in different city and school events and helps us in varying ways such as supporting our school's technology usage.
Not only has White Oak been honored for our unique, forward thinking Social Communication program, which received the California Golden Bell award, we have also been recognized as a National Blue Ribbon and California Gold Ribbon School by the California Department of Education. We are home to many of Las Virgenes District's “Employees of the Month” and "Employees of the Year." Once you see our dynamic teachers and staff in action, it will be clear why White Oak is a special place to call 'home." Our teachers and entire staff are dedicated to the health and well-being of all our students. We look at the whole child and work together, with our families, to provide a rich, well-rounded, positive learning experience. Our White Oak Lions embody the characteristics of ROAR; they are learning to be Respectful, Optimistic, Accountable, and Resourceful students. Throughout the year we celebrate our ROARing Lions with awards, tickets, and lunch with the principal. Staff and students alike are proud to be White Oak Lions! Aristotle said “The whole is greater than the sum of its parts” and that certainly encapsulates White Oak Elementary.
White Oak prides itself on educating the Whole Child by maintaining high academic standards for our students while nurturing their social/emotional needs.
